The new scrapbooking sketch is a little late due to a host of life-changing events over the last 2-3 months in our circle of family and friends – the whole breadth of life-events from birth to marriage and death, and the extremes of emotion that come with them.

All life experiences are suitable for scrapbooking for they are part of our lives. Welcoming new family members and saying goodbye to old friends; all are fixed in our memories and deserve a place in our scrapbooks.

So the new layout idea is here, it’s simple and it uses three 4×6 prints. Pick out your three best photos, or you three favorite photos, get your thinking caps on and see what you come up with.

Use as a simple scrapbooking layout with the photos lying in any direction

Or double up for a two-page spread that could look like this …

Some tips for double page spreads

When using the sketch to create a 2-page layout consider one or more of these ideas:

  • make one of the title blocks into a journaling area
  • remove one title altogether to create more ‘white space’
  • consider one large photo instead of three on one page
  • split one photo-placement – or more – into two when you want to use even more photos
  • with the three photos horizontal on your page, split each one vertically to give ‘slices’ of the action

We hope this scrapbooking sketch, along with the ideas, spur you on to many great layouts that you will look back to again and again.
