This scrapbooking layout is made using sketch 24 in our scrapbooking sketches series.
Be warned … our layout designer Isabella became a grandmother recently, so you’re in for lots of baby layouts, lol!
Watching the scrapbooking pennies …
With many of us experiencing cut-backs, short-time working and lay-offs, we wanted to show you what you can do when you don’t have any specialty baby scrapbooking supplies.
As well as using our current scrapbooking sketch, ‘Precious Daughters’ uses regular scrapbooking papers, and embellishments we already had in our stash. You could also add a baby sticker or outline sticker, if you have any, for a fun touch. Using one sticker instead of a whole sheet will add that little accent you want while making your pack go much farther.
Other money-saving tips for scrapbookers
Trace the basic shapes of some baby products from a baby store catalogue, for example, baby bottles, clothes or toys.
Transfer your drawing to light card then you have a template for future use.
Draw a little baby dress or sleepsuit shape on the reverse of plain paper or a very small-patterned paper, then cut them out and adhere to your layout with foam tape.
Check your supplies for little motifs that will work for your baby layout.
Organize your supplies, then you will know what you have and what you do not have. This will not only save you time when looking for an item in future, but it will remind you of things that have slipped out of your memory because they’ve fallen to the bottom of your stash – out of sight, out of mind. Then take the challenge to use them!
