Wedding-Cakes

Wedding cakes … would you like a slice? Oh, sorry, it’s only a scrapbook layout and not the real thing, lol!

Rich fruit cake with marzipan and fondant icing. A beautifully moist carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Chocolate cake with chocolate fudge icing. Is your mouth watering? Boy, were they good!

But this website is about scrapbooking so I’d better stop drooling over cakes and get on with it. (grin)

Well, you can tell at a glance which were the photographers shots and which were mine (sigh, sad face – a lot more to learn!) I love how the focus in the main photo is on the pearls and the chocolate roses behind, with the front slightly out of focus. (Apologies to the photographer – I know he is Heather’s brother but I can’t remember his name at the moment. Will come back and rectify that shortly.)

Tip: The main photo only covered about two-thirds of the page, so I added a layer behind it, picking up the color at the edge of the photo, then placed the scalloped ribbon over the join. By carefully selecting the color it gives the impression the photo fills the page. However, it only works because the lower part of the page has other objects in it – you notice it’s ‘flat’ otherwise.

Sorry again I cannot offer you a slice, lol. *Thought* You could always print this scrapbook layout and take a slice that way … no? I don’t blame you, lol!
