We have a new scrapbooking sketch again this month, along with some tips and suggestions on how to use it.
First off, we have a large white border … keep as is, journal in it, or use your favourite patterned paper, plain or patterned cardstock.
Next, we have a large ragged-edged area … fill it with a photograph, or distress the edge of patterned paper or cardstock. There are some interesting cardstocks around with contrasting core, but even ‘normal’ white core looks interesting and can be coloured with inks or chalks, if you don’t have any specialty card on hand.
Ignore the ragged or distressed edges if you prefer not to damage your cardstock or photographs, or prefer a ‘tidier’ result.

Here is the new scrapbooking sketch idea from ScrapbookingGems.com.
A scrapbooking sketch, or scrapbooking template, is an idea to use to get you started on a new layout. Sometimes we just can’t think what to do and it can be a spur to our creativity.
We try to help with suggestions on how to use the sketch and we turn the sketch around for you to save you hurting your neck as you try to imagine what it will look like upside down, turned 90 degrees or flipped over or back to front. (Don’t get concerned when you see the results of these actions as we’ve simply used the editor to do this and not made new layouts for each, so you’ll see the title upside down and back to front, too!)

Are you looking for a scrapbooking sketch with multiple photos to catch up on your summer scrapbooking, or even last year’s Thanksgiving and Christmas photos before the next holidays come round again? Then this new layout idea could be just what you are looking for.
If you are unhappy about the fact it has thirteen photo places, then splitting the two larger central photos horizontally will give you fifteen places.

This scrapbooking sketch reminded me of an old-fashioned circus ringmaster, with his big curly moustache. But you don’t have to give your layout a moustache, lol!
With autumn well and truly here now in the northern hemisphere you could use this page layout idea to showcase the wonders of changing colours, or grateful harvests. Or do you want to use it with your pumpkin patch photographs?

Another month, another free scrapbooking sketch to try out this weekend from ScrapbookingGems.com.
Ok, you don’t have to wait until the weekend! However, that’s often when we’re most likely to have a few spare moments to ourselves.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Then try this month’s scrapbooking sketch for your next scrapbooking layout. It’s a jigsaw just waiting for you to fit the pieces together.
Do you like jigsaw puzzles? I rarely have the patience to finish the real things, but this kind is fine – there are not too many pieces, lol! And the fun with a scrapbooking sketch is that you don’t have to follow it exactly. As a springboard for your imagination you can use as many pieces as you wish. If you want you can use this page layout idea as it is with all the pieces you see, or just use a few, or then again make your own jigsaw pattern.
Read on for 5 scrapbooking ideas and 5 journaling ideas.

No, this month’s scrapbooking sketch is not a dinner plate … but it could be if you want, lol! You could show what you had for each course of a special meal, and who you shared it with – that’s the first idea to get you off the ground this month.
Or how about the person in the photo in one of the lower quadrants imagining their favorite meal? Or someone dreaming wistfully of something they’d like to do, or some place they’d like to go.

Our scrapbooking sketch for June uses 5 photographs, with a focus on one and allowing the other four to supplement the story.
As usual, there are many ways to interpret a scrapbooking sketch and it’s always exciting to see the various ideas people come up with. I often find myself saying, “Wow, I never thought of that!”

The new scrapbooking sketch is a little late due to a host of life-changing events over the last 2-3 months in our circle of family and friends – the whole breadth of life-events from birth to marriage and death, and the extremes of emotion that come with them.
All life experiences are suitable for scrapbooking for they are part of our lives. Welcoming new family members and saying goodbye to old friends; all are fixed in our memories and deserve a place in our scrapbooks.

I find it exciting to start a new layout with a scrapbooking sketch. It always gets me off the mark more quickly than sitting with just a few photos and scrapbook supplies.
This new sketch includes 3 papers, 1 photo, ribbon and journaling block (or it could be another photo, if you prefer.) There’s a title block and one or two positions that could be a sub-title and journaling, or a quote. Try it and see how you get on.
