Spring is officially here now, although you wouldn’t know it yet! We’re updating and spring cleaning our website and as you may have noticed it’s taking longer than we said. It always seems to be the same. I set out to do something that should only take a couple of minutes and two hours later I finally finish. Or it should only take a couple of days, and three weeks later I’m still at it! Is it just me, or do you find that too?
We did a fair bit of tidying up as we want you to have a good experience when you visit our site. We found a lot of dead links that we either removed or updated, and we even found a post where half was missing (don’t know why!), so corrected that too. If you find anything we missed or that does not seem right, we would really appreciate it if you’d let us know so we can correct it. Please use the contact form and include the title of the post as well as the problem. Including the URL will help, too, but is not essential. Thanks.
One new thing we will be offering is a downloadable file for our sketches. So if you are a digital scrapbooker look out for that shortly.
Thank you for your patience and your help as we spring clean the website.
Bear with us please while we’re hard at work updating the site. Why are we doing this? So you can find things faster, quickly see a wider range of what’s here, and generally improve the site. Hope you like it. If you want to comment or you find a problem and have time to drop us a note that would be wonderful. There are 2 ways: use the comments or contact form. Thanks for your patience.
As scrapbooking enthusiasts we scrap everything, right? Including golf resorts? Well … ye-es, but …?
One of the jobs I’ve often thought I’d enjoy is that of the person who gets to furnish the model homes or show apartments for builders. You know, the houses the builders use to convince you their new development is just where you need to be.
We scrapbook a multitude of topics and with faith coming pretty high up the list, have you ever wondered if there is a relationship between scrapbooking and religion?
A similar question was asked on the ScrapGirls message board recently, and we thought you might be interested in the replies.
Make the most of this moment. Then preserve the memories. (Have you scrapped yourself scrapping?)
We ran a series a while back about our reasons for scrapbooking. We polled you and discovered that one of the main reasons most of us scrapbook is to preserve the memories; we want to hold on to them for the future.
In Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Cinderella” video below, we have a poignant reminder of just how quickly the time passes, and why many of us make scrapbooks …
The power of a simple gift: a shoebox filled with small gifts sent with love to give joy & hope to children who would not otherwise receive a gift at Christmas.
It sometimes seems the needs in our world are never-ending. We are constantly bombarded in the news programs, newspapers and magazines with people suffering in one disaster after another, and my heart breaks for everyone of them. Much as I would love to be able to, as one individual I cannot help everyone – my resources are limited. I will do what I can, one at a time, and encourage you to do what you can, when and wherever you can so it.
Seasons come and go. The different seasons of life often bring the big questions of life …
Summer’s almost over … School’s in for the new session … another busy year ahead … Soon it’ll be Thanksgiving … then Christmas … where does the time go?
At what stage of life do you find yourself? And what are you asking?
I wanted to call this department Genie’s Gems & Gleanings for I wanted space to write about interesting things I’d learned that might not be related to scrapbooking yet might interest you. (Perhaps I flatter myself!)
It proved to be too much of a mouthful so it was left as Genie’s Gems.
Anyway, the idea of gleaning is to gather, collect or pull together; collecting bits as you go along; and often refers to things you learn along the way in life. So you can see where I was coming from.
